Verda Alexander will give us the play-by-play on what carbon form is and why it’s imperative to move away from the carbon materials we use in order to create a sustainable future.
It’s hard to grasp the enormity and sheer beauty of our planet when we are planted firmly on the ground — thanks gravity! Join us as Nicole Stott explains how and why the overview effect has the power to increase everyone's appreciation of and obligation to care for our home planet and each other.

Bridging perception gaps and effective communication are essential. Modern media needs to meet people where they are to encourage action and sometimes that means deviating away from the “norm” or establishing new rules entirely. During this interactive workshop we'll dive into the world of modern media with Ronald Young Jr., an acclaimed audio producer and storyteller and Bridget Todd, the digital activist behind iHeartRadio's award-winning podcast, "There Are No Girls on the Internet." The goal of the workshop will be to learn how to identify and capitalize on the exposure and focus cycles relating to causes that are impacting your world. For our first case study, we'll explore Ronald and Bridget's personal experiences as black content creators and the ways in which the landscape shifts constantly based on the public perception of race, particularly during and after the murder of George Floyd in 2020. Be prepared to get involved as we'll dig into other topics and will look to the audience for guidance for other case studies to workshop during our session. What will we talk about... Department of Homeland Security, Space Exploration, The Environment... who knows? Well, maybe you do because you'll be helping to guide this workshop!

Blue foods — harvested animals, plants & algae in freshwater & marine environments — harness a special superpower that can help meet the global demand for food. So what’s the catch? They need to be produced sustainably. Join us as Jennifer Bushman (Co-Founder, Fed by Blue) explores what sustainable aquaculture looks like and how it could be one of our best hopes towards feeding the planet.
When you care about sustainability, you care about how people and businesses and governments make decisions, today, that will have impacts on the future. Sustainability is the act of thinking long-term. It turns out there is a clear way that such decision-making happens: interest rates. At the end of the day, whatever thing you want—a more environmentally-friendly building; less hydrocarbon-fueled travel; a food system built around long-term health of the planet and its people—involves trade-offs between what we want to have in the future and what we want to eat or wear or do right this minute. That is what interest rates do. You might think interest rates are dull, technical, boring. No! They are the secret key to using our system to rebuild our system and to make it more sustainable.

Come mid-morning, we roll into lab content and heady hosted convos with refreshing interstitials peppered throughout before an afternoon full of experiences like lake plunges + sauna rituals, experiential art installations, and outdoor adventures. Definitely not for the crisp air + big mountains, or the incredible products that our sugar boilers, bread pros, vegetable tamers, cheese magicians, and beer geniuses make. And not for the burgeoning tech and impact investment scene. Or the deep sense of community. Or ABSOLUTELY not for the thriving winter sports scene and environmental stewardship. Was that helpful? Did we answer the question?
The labs are think tank style workshops with 40+ participants designed to bring folks together to talk through new ideas, get connected, and find resources about specific industries. For February, we are focusing on outer space, rural development, and the blue economy. Each Lab will put you at the center of the action where you'll meet the leaders of incredible organizations, learn from their journeys, get inspired by their work, and participate in collaborative roundtables.
Nah, you’re good but leave your business suit at home (do bring your swimsuit!).
